Mission from Mars

Volunteers from St. John will be going to Pittsburgh to serve lunch and offer community to the local homeless population. For months we have been collecting tons of donations to take with us. Thank you to all who have supported this effort!

If you'd like to help package things for the event, please contact the church office at 724-625-1830.

125th Anniversary
October 30

St. John Lutheran Church began as a congregation in 1897. So it's time to celebrate! We will have a special worship service with the Bishop of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod to commemorate this monumental anniversary in the life of St. John.

Here's to 125 more!

Reformation Sunday
October 30

Reformation Sunday commemorates the story of Martin Luther posting the 95 Theses on the church door to spark debate about various practices of the church that he felt were abuses of the church's power. Rooted in the past and growing into the future, the church must always be reformed in order to live out the love of Christ in an ever-changing world. We celebrate the good news of God’s grace, that Jesus Christ sets us free every day to do this life-transforming work. Trusting in the freedom given to us in baptism, we pray for the church, that Christians will unite more fully in worship and mission.

Trunk or Treat
October 31

While trick or treating in the area, stop by the parking lot of St. John Lutheran Church along Pine Ave for more treats from members of the church who have decorated the trunks of their cars!
