St. John is a congregation of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod (SWPA) of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The SWPA Synod includes 151 congregations and includes a geographic area from Butler and Ligonier to the borders of Maryland, West Virginia, and Ohio.
St. John is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), one of the largest Christian denominations in the United States, with nearly 3.3 million members in more than 8,900 worshiping communities across the 50 states and in the Caribbean region.
Camp Lutherlyn is a "God-given place to be accepted, challenged, and sent." It is located in Prospect, PA (near Butler) and offers summer camps, retreats, year-round environmental education, and other events. Camp Lutherlyn is a ministry of the Northwestern PA and Southwestern PA synods of the ELCA.
