FAITH FORMATION
Christian Education and Faith Formation are important elements of our life together as Lutherans. Opportunities exist for children and adults of all ages and at any stage in their faith lives to ask questions, explore scripture, and consider how our faith is relevant in today's world.
Faith Formation Opportunities
Sunday School
Sunday School is an opportunity for children and youth to learn about the Bible and explore their faith at a level that is appropriate to them. Classes exist for children in Preschool through High School. Classes meet on Sunday mornings after worship, at 10:10 am, September through May. Check the calendar and monthly newsletter for specific start and end dates.
Confirmation Classes
Confirmation is a program for youth in 6th-8th grade as youth take ownership over their faith and prepare to be voting members in the congregation. Topics include Lutheran Theology (how Lutherans think about God), Lutheran History, and a deeper look at Scripture. Classes are scheduled throughout the school year.
Adult Sunday School
Each week the adults will gather after worship to dive deeper into the scripture readings heard in worship. This time will be an opportunity to explore confusing or challenging themes in the texts as well as consider further the way this text speaks to us today. Classes meet on Sunday mornings after worship, at 10:15 am, September through May. Check the calendar and monthly newsletter for specific start and end dates.
Messy Church
Messy Church is an intentionally intergenerational faith formation experience filled with creativity, celebration, and hospitality for people at all stages of their faith journey and of any age. We gather once a month, on the third Friday from 5:30-7:30pm. Each gathering includes a time of creative exploration, a shared meal, and an interactive, informal worship service. Learn more here.
Weekday Adult Bible Study
These weekday meetings will provide opportunities to consider a book of the Bible or a topic found within the Bible for several weeks in a row. Sessions run for 4-6 weeks depending on the topic. New sessions will be announced on Facebook as well as in the monthly newsletter.
